The Food Pantry is a ministry of Hyland Heights Baptist Church that helps families and individuals in our community who have basic food and clothing needs.
In November of 2012, we saw our largest food distribution yet, with over 570 families (1500+ individuals) receiving food donations. Families can receive food once per calendar month. Hundreds of volunteers invest thousands of hours of work each month and we are always looking for help.
HOW TO HELP
We are always in need of volunteers to help with greeting clients, registration, paper work, food collection from area grocery stores and the food bank, loading food for clients on distribution days, and folding and sorting clothes.
To help on Wednesday Night Distribution you can just “show up” and we will put you to work where needed, or you can contact the church office at (434) 821-6906. This will help us plug in our volunteers more efficiently. Training is done “on the job” as you work along side experienced volunteers or one of the directors.
Food, clothing or monetary donations are also welcome. Clothing can be dropped off at the “Clothing Pantry” shed to the side of the Student Ministries Center just north of the main church campus. Food or monetary donations can be made through the church office (434) 821-6906.
HOW TO RECEIVE HELP
We meet on Wednesdays starting at 4:30 p.m.
You can arrive at the church up to ONE HOUR prior to opening and check-in at the main lobby/covered entrance labelled Entrance 1 on the north side of the building.
Families can only receive food donations once per month.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the church office at (434) 821-6906.
