Abundant Thankfulness - Weekly Celebration (November 11th, 2021)

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful, and sure. - Isaiah 25:1

Have you ever had a moment, when you look back over a season of life and see how God’s hand has been working and guiding you every step of the way? The season may have been frustrating, worrisome, painful, or even dark. You may not have felt God’s peace or presence at times during the journey. All you could do was walk by faith and trust along the way. Yet looking back, with that perspective, you can’t help but see how God was all over the journey from the start. Abundant thankfulness and praise form in your chest as you consider the faithfulness of our God.

We have seen God moving at Hyland Heights in some incredible ways, and we are, above all else, filled with gratitude and praise.

Below are also a few celebrations from the past week as well as our most recent financial update.

A Place to Grow:

This past weekend was our highest attended week of worship and life groups all fall. This past month we also experienced our highest mid-week attendance in children’s and student ministries for the fall. As God continues to move, let’s all lean in more and even invite others to join us in experiencing God’s goodness too.

New Sermon Series:

This Sunday we kick off our new sermon series in the book of Isaiah as we lead up to Christmas. As I have prepared this week, I’m so excited for all that God desires to reveal to us through this series. See you Sunday!

Fall Missions Offering Update:

Incredible is the only word I can think of! Thank you Hyland Heights for your incredible faithfulness and heart for missions. Together we raised over $55,000.00 to go directly to the mission field through our Fall Missions Offering. Thank you for your generosity that will undoubtedly make an incredible impact on the kingdom of God.

Missions Opportunities:

1) Pray for our team going to Roanoke on Saturday. We look forward to being the hands and feet of Jesus, sharing the Good News alongside our partnership church plant, Hill Church.

2) We could still use several more “Thanksgiving Bags” to pass out to our community through our food pantry. These bags help us bless each family in an extra special way during the holiday season. You can still pick up a blue thanksgiving bag to fill near each of our church entrances.

3) Remember that Operation Christmas Child boxes are due to be returned this coming Sunday. Help us send the gospel to the nations as we remember that Christmas isn’t about a box full of stuff, but the gift of God which brings salvation and hope to the world.

Business Meeting:

This Sunday, November 14th at 6:00 pm, is our regularly scheduled end-of-the-year business meeting. We look forward to a time of celebration, reports from various ministries and committees, our first-quarter financial report, and approving nominations made by nominating and deacon nominating committees.

Happy Veterans Day:

On this Veterans Day was want to say thank you to the many veterans who are a part of our church family and your family. We are grateful for your service to our country and we pray that today is a day where you feel honored and appreciated by all.

HHBC Weekly Financials:

This Week’s Offering: $49,630.04

Weekly Budgeted Need: $36,346.00

Year-to-Date we have received 100% of our budget need.

We hope that you can see how each week your faithful generosity is making an incredible impact here at Hyland Heights. As we come to the end of the year, your generosity is as important as ever so that we can continue to make a greater gospel impact in our community and world. Our sincere prayer is that the Lord will continue to bless your gospel generosity to advance His Kingdom in incredible ways as we all move forward together.

There are multiple ways for you to give, including hhbc.net/give, on the HHBC app, in worship by placing your gift in the offering boxes in our worship center, or by mailing your gift to 11452 Wards Rd., Rustburg, VA 24588.
