Faithfulness - Weekly Celebration (October 29th, 2021)

Updated: Nov 11, 2021

Hallelujah! Give praise, servants of the Lord; praise the name of the Lord. Let the name of the Lord be blessed both now and forever. From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised.

Psalm 113:1-3

Did you wake up this morning and think to yourself, “I wonder if the sun will rise and set today?” Of course not! The pathway of the sun through our sky is so predictable, day-by-day, season-by-season, and year-by-year, we know exactly where the sun will be. Is our God any less faithful than the Sun? His faithfulness is everlasting (Psalm 100:5), we can trust Him, regardless of the storms the seasons may bring. God is faithful, and so we can bring Him our prayers and our praise.

While worshiping with our Student Ministry this past Wednesday, we sang this song about the faithfulness of God. I hope you take time to listen to it, and find encouragement in it today:

Below are also a few celebrations from the past week as well as our most recent financial update.

Fall Missions Offering Update: In the month of October, we are collecting for our Fall Missions Offering. Through your faithful generosity, lives are changed by the power of the Gospel. 40% of this offering goes directly to the work of the International Mission Board (IMB), 40% to HHBC support missionaries around the world, and 20% continues to build up our mission scholarship fund so we can continue to send more HHBC church members on mission than ever before. Our goal this year is $50,000. As of this morning our church has given $35,798.99! Thank you for prayerfully giving to this special offering and living out our vision to be a gospel driven church.

Fall Fun Fest: We had an amazing time at Fall Fun Fest this past week with between 13-1500 people joining us for this event! This week we have been able to follow-up with many families who said they were not connected to a church. Continue to reach out and invite the families you know to join us again for worship this Sunday!

AWANA: This past week we had the largest attendance in AWANA all year! Praise God for how he is moving in our children’s ministry!

Student Carnival Night: This past Wednesday night was also our student carnival night. We saw many new faces, it was a powerful night of worship and Pastor Jackson presented the gospel incredibly clearly. I am praying God will use that night in great ways to see students come to Christ.

Loving Our Community: We love to find creative ways to love our community! Several weeks ago we sent out some care packages to the teachers of Rustburg Elementary School, to meet some needs and help supply their classrooms. Needless to say, they were blow away! Thank you for your incredible generosity that allows us to love our community so well!

HHBC Weekly Financials:

This Week’s Offering: $35,625.72 Weekly Budgeted Need: $36,346.00 Year-to-Date we have received 98% of our budged need.

We hope that you can see how each week your faithful generosity is making an incredible impact here at Hyland Heights. As we continue into the Fall, your generosity is as important as ever so that we can continue to make a greater gospel impact in our community and world. Our sincere prayer is that the Lord will continue to bless your gospel generosity to advance His Kingdom in incredible ways as we all move forward together.

There are multiple ways for you to give, including: hhbc.net/give, on the HHBC app, in worship by placing your gift in the offering boxes in our worship center, or by mailing your gift to 11452 Wards Rd., Rustburg, VA 24588.

Covid Reminders:

HHBC continues to strive to keep our church family safe during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. We continue to encourage everyone to take the precautions you would take when entering into any other building. We also want to remind everyone that the 9:30 service still has plenty of room for you and your family to join us while best maintaining social distancing. Thank you for your help and understanding as we strive to keep the people we love as safe as possible. For additional information on HHBC’s response to Covid-19 go to hhbc.net/coronavirus
