Hyland Heights
Weekly Celebration! (May 19)
Updated: Jul 10, 2020
Church Family,
It’s hard to contain our excitement as we get ready to reopen the doors for worship this coming Sunday. God has been so faithful to Hyland Heights Baptist Church over the past several months and we expect Him to continue to do great things in our midst as we gather to celebrate His goodness, grow through His Word, and continue to impact our community and world for His glory! Below you will find celebrations, announcements, and our weekly financials to keep you connected to what’s happening at Hyland Heights in the coming days.
Did you know? This past Sunday we had over 1300 unique viewers watch our Live Stream. That’s 1300 devices, multiple people may have shared viewing from a single device, that tuned in to at least some part of our worship service. Our prayer is that God would continue to spread our reach that we would be a part of His wonderful gospel being heard and many more people responding to His offer of grace.
Ready for Sunday! You can feel the excitement growing day by day as our staff and many volunteers continue to prepare our hearts and facilities for you, your families, and your friends to join us as we reopen our doors this Sunday, May 24th. Worship opportunities will be Sunday morning at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 a.m. If you have any questions about which service is best for you and your family, what steps we are taking to keep everyone safe, or what our next steps look like as a church family, you can learn more at hhbc.net/coronavirus.
Painters Needed: In preparation for when our Life Groups and Children’s Ministry will meet, we need your help painting and readying rooms. This is a big undertaking, but many hands make the work-load light. If you would like to paint a Life Group room or Children’s room, please call the office at 434.821.6906 to sign-up and let them know what time you would like to be in the building. Thank you for serving to get our facilities ready to reopen soon!
Community Impact: Impacting our world is our church’s vision to carry out the Great Commission in Rustburg/Lynchburg and to the ends of the earth. Jesus calls every believer to be a part of this mission and at Hyland Heights you are! Our counseling center is available as a free resource to our church and community. If you or someone you know could benefit from this incredible ministry you can easily sign-up for an appointment at https://www.hhbc.net/counseling
Celebrating Our Students: Pastor Brian and the Student Ministry staff would like to invite all HS graduates to join us Sunday, May 31st in the 9:45am worship service to be recognized for all your hard work and accomplishment. At the beginning of the service we will invite all graduates to the stage to introduce themselves, share where they graduated from and what their post high school plans are. As a church we want you to know how proud we are of our students. If you have a student that would like to participate in the celebration please contact Pastor Brian at bfreerksen@hhbc.net ASAP.
HHBC Weekly Financials:
Weekly Offering: $20,345.44
Weekly Budget: $33,228.00
As of May 17th, we have received 100% of our year-to-date budget.
As we head toward reopening our doors for worship this coming week, we want to say a huge thank you to all who have continued to give so generously during the past several months. Now, as always, your amazing generosity has enabled us to impact our community in incredible ways and because of it we are also able to move forward in the ministry and mission that God is leading us to in the days to come.
Giving in worship will look slightly different in the coming weeks as we will not pass the plates for your safety, but will have offering baskets where you can give as you exit the worship center following whichever service you attend. For many, we know that you have started to give online and this continues to be an excellent choice to make giving easier/safer for you and to make sure that the ministry and mission of HHBC continues to impact more lives the weeks to come. If you would like to give to Hyland Heights online, simply go to hhbc.net/give.
12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him
~ Colossians 3:12-17
See you Sunday!
