Weekly Celebration! (May 28)

Updated: Jul 10, 2020

Church Family,

It’s been a fantastic week at Hyland Heights! We have had many great opportunities to give God praise! Below you will find just a couple of quick celebrations as well as our weekly financials to keep you connected to what’s happening at Hyland Heights in the coming days.

  • A Great Sunday Together! This Sunday we finally were able to reopen the doors of our church and regather in worship! Our 8:30 service had 173 in attendance, 9:45 had 249 in attendance,11:00 had 130 in attendance, and our online worship was estimated around 300. That said, there was plenty of room to add more physical attenders while continuing to maintain social distancing in our worship center. We hope this information continues to help as you choose when and which service is right for your family! If you still have questions regarding what steps we are taking to keep everyone safe or what our next steps look like as a church family, you can learn more at hhbc.net/coronavirus.

  • Two Meaningful Moments! First, in case you missed it, Sunday morning included powerful moments of prayer in each service as we celebrated God’s goodness through this coronavirus season and looked forward to seeing Him continue to do great things in the new season He is leading us into. Throughout Scripture we see that God moves as His people pray and it makes me wonder what we might see God do as we continue to seek His face in the days to come. In addition, we were able to celebrate two salvations on Sunday. We are so thankful to be a part of God doing in the lives of the families of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

  • Will Guest Still Come? One thing that might surprise you to learn is that we had more than a few guests and guest families join us for worship this past Sunday. While a few may just want to find a way to get out of the house, I believe that many are looking for hope and stability during the time of this pandemic. While you may still have to sit a few seats apart, pray about who your family can invite to join them for worship this week. Let’s not miss this opportunity in the life of our country to point our community to the ultimate source of hope, Jesus our Lord.

  • Celebrating Our Students: Remember that this Sunday we have an opportunity to cheer on our graduates. Join us as we celebrate with them and their families on this wonderful achievement and commit with us to pray for them as they follow Christ as He continues to guide their next steps.

HHBC Weekly Financials:

Weekly Offering: $63,699.00

Weekly Budget: $33,228.00

As of May 24th, we have received 107% of our year-to-date budget.

Once again, all we can say is praise God and thank you to all who have continued to give so generously during the past several months. Now, as always, your amazing generosity is enabling us to impact our community in incredible ways and because of it we are also able to move forward in the ministry and mission that God is leading us to in the days to come.

Please continue to remember that giving in worship will look slightly different in the coming weeks as we will not pass the plates for your safety, but will have offering baskets where you can give as you exit the worship center following whichever service you attend. For many, we know that you have started to give online and this continues to be an excellent choice to make giving easier/safer for you and to make sure that the ministry and mission of HHBC continues to impact more lives the weeks to come. Dr. Josh Carter

Senior Pastor

Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous ones; praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the Lord with the lyre; make music to him with a ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song to him; play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout.

For the word of the Lord is right, and all his work is trustworthy. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the Lord’s unfailing love.

~ Psalm 33:1-5
