Social media coordinator


The Social Media Coordinator works with the Media Team in the areas of graphic design, social media, and promotion to administer Hyland Heights' social media marketing and advertising, develop awareness and online exposure of the church, and engage with the church's online audience.

Beginning: As soon as possible.

Reporting to: Josh Moon, Digital Ministries Director

Compensation: Part-time, 15-17 hr/wk


Social Media Marketing & Advertising

Administer Hyland Heights Baptist Church's social media marketing and advertising, including but not limited to the following platforms:

  • Hyland Heights Baptist Church Facebook Page & Instagram

  • Student Ministry Facebook Page & Instagram

  • Children's Ministry Facebook Page

  • Men's Ministry Facebook Page

  • Women's Ministry Facebook Page

Content Management

Create and maintain a regular content schedule to develop awareness and online exposure of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. Content management duties include:

  • Create and publish relevant, original, and high-quality content for all channels

  • Identify and improve the success of Hyland Heights’ initiatives by developing partnering social media content

  • Implement promotional items on social media platforms as planned within the Media Team’s event promotion schedule

  • Integrate social media marketing with other media channels (email, print, digital, etc.)

  • Gather content weekly at various activities happening within the life of the church

  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users of our social media platforms


Qualifications include:

  • Must agree with Hyland Heights Baptist Church's articles of faith

  • Must bear witness to a clear testimony of conversion, evidence of the fruit of the Spirit, and a commitment to personal growth both spiritually and professionally

  • Should be creative and hard working with above average grammatical skills

  • Practices excellent time management

  • Has good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly

  • Able to work in a team setting with good communication skills

  • Able to work efficiently and effectively in team situations as well as independently

  • Must have graphic design experience and some familiarity with Adobe software

  • Completed or pursuing a degree in Strategic Commuinications, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
