103,680 Times and 43 Million Miles

Updated: Mar 16, 2020

Let me remind you to sign up to get your picture made for the church directory. There are still openings. If you have already signed up, remember when you come to get your picture made to come in Entrance 3, in the front of the church. Entrance 3 sits back and is between the worship center and the glass tower in the front of the campus. You can go to our web page, hhbc.net and look for the Life Touch link to sign up.

How often have you heard or repeated the passage, "We are fearfully and wonderfully made"? Well, each day the human heart beats 103,680 times, pushing the blood some 43 million miles. On an average day you'll inhale 438 cubic feet of air while taking some 23,000 breaths. You will, on average, digest three and one-fourth pounds of food and drink a half gallon of liquid. Pretty amazing when you realize all of that is happening automatically without us even thinking about it. Well you might say the food and drink part takes some thought but overall your body functions without you even thinking about it.

The Bible tells us that while it takes scientist to understand all of the above God knows us intimately and understands us as no one else does. In Psalm 139:1-4 David says, "O Lord you have searched me and you know me. . . You perceive my thoughts from afar. . . You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You know it completely".

Whenever you get to thinking you're of no value and that nobody cares, remember that God knows you and created you with an amazing love for you and above all else to know you. Today, praise Him for not only how you're made but how He loves you.

Pray for Robert Goff as he will bury his wife, Alease, today. The graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at Virginia Memorial Park.

Don't forget to be here tonight as I'll be sharing about how to be healed from emotional hurts as we continue our study on the life of Joseph. Don't forget there are other studies happening as well. One last reminder - Pastor Mike can still use volunteers for Fall Fun Fest so drop him a note at msummy@hhbc.net and sign up today.

MDTMD,

Pastor Carl
