Can We Get A Refund?

Hello Church Family,  I hope that you are doing well and having a great start to your week.   It was awesome yesterday being together at church and worshiping as a church family.  In case you haven't heard, this coming Sunday we will be going back to two services and having one at 9:30 AM and one at 11:00 AM.  I hope that on Sunday you will be able to be join us for one of these.   Recently, I have had to practice extreme self control when it come to social media.  Everyday my feed is overwhelmed with people's opinions of Covid 19 shutdowns, black lives matter, and the political leaders in our nation.  My wife has to remind me that sharing my opinion is not necessary and there are lots of people who will take offense to it.  I can proudly say that I have behaved myself!  I did see something the other day that caught my attention.  It was from a life long friend who has had an interesting 2020 to say the least.  Besides dealing with coronavirus, the presidential impeachment, and the riots in our cities, he has also had to deal with a tree falling through the roof of his house.  On this particular day, his little boy had just suffered a broken arm and was in a cast.  The message on his Facebook was "can we restart 2020 and receive a refund"?  I know many of you have been thinking this was as well.   Yes 2020 has been a year to remember.  One political commentator said this is the most volatile year since the turbulent year of 1968.  Although, I don't remember 1968, I know I will never forget this one.  With all of the craziness and problems going on it is easy to forget the goodness of God.  Yesterday in church all three of the worship songs reminded me of just how blessed I am.  The last one used the words that He is the God who stays.  "You're the one who runs in my direction, when the whole world walks away."  I know recently we may have felt that God has walked away, but in reality He is running towards us.  Think for a minute right now how blessed you are.  Think about the 5 biggest blessings in your life write them down and share them with someone.  Let me challenge you with this, instead of responding or posting something political or controversial on your social media, post God's 5 biggest blessings in your life.  Mine are my salvation, my wife, my three kids, my job, and my parents who brought me up in the knowledge of God.  Let's overwhelm social media with God's blessings.  Remember we have a God who run's towards us.  Today post God's 5 biggest blessings in your life.  Have a great week!

God Bless,

Mike Summy
