Weekly Celebration! (June 9)

Updated: Jul 10, 2020

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His faithful love endures forever.

Psalm 136

Give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In every season of life, for the salvation we have so freely received and the blessings He has so lavishly bestowed, our God deserves our praise and thanksgiving. Below are a few or our celebrations and praises as well as our weekly financial update for the week.

  • It’s Time to Worship! One of the most meaningful ways we praise and celebrate God’s goodness in our life is through worshiping together. Last week we had our highest in person attendance, over 600, since returning from shutdown due to pandemic. In addition, we continue to have a high number of people engaging with us online. We praise God for every person and every family who is joining us each week for worship. Next week we will move to 2 services; 9:30 and 11:00 am. In doing so we believe we will still be able to accommodate everyone while maintaining social distancing as we lead into phase 2 of our regathering plan.

  • Wednesday’s Pastors Panel: Join our pastors this Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. on Facebook Live as we discuss exciting upcoming events like Phase 2 of regathering, VBS, children and student camps, as well as Life Groups. In addition, if you have any questions for our pastors about ways God is working at Hyland Heights you can send them to us in the comment section of the live stream feed and we will do our best to answer them as we are able. See you Wednesday!

  • Serving Those Who Serve: The hearts of our church and those who lead our ministries are passionate about the community we live in. We love our community, those who live in our community and those who serve our community. One way HHBC Women’s Ministry lived this out last week was by bringing a meal to the Lynchburg Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s office. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and pray for those who serve our community so well.

HHBC Weekly Financials:

Weekly Offering: $49,318.00

Weekly Budget: $33,228.00

As of June 7th, we have received 105% of our year-to-date budget.

Please continue to remember that giving in worship will continue to look different throughout phase 2 of our regathering plan. We will not pass the plates for your safety, but will have offering baskets where you can give as you exit the worship center following whichever service you attend. For many, we know that you have started to give online and this continues to be an excellent choice to make giving easier/safer for you and to make sure that the ministry and mission of HHBC continues to impact more lives the weeks to come. If you would like to give to Hyland Heights online, simply go to hhbc.net/give.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray constantly, 18 give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Don’t stifle the Spirit. 20 Don’t despise prophecies, 21 but test all things. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.

23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will do it.

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
